January 26th, All Democrats and No Party affiliation are Invited to Our Organizational Meeting

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
Our thanks to many in the community who have become involved since the madness of November 8, 2016.  After the election a wake up call has sounded across the land.  It is now our responsibility to best channel the action and passion into a plan for Greene County.  I am attaching a guide for your review.  It may serve as a roadmap for our efforts.
On Thursday January 26th at 7:00pm the Greene County Democratic Committee conducts their organizational meeting for 2017.  In previous years this was a pro forma meeting……subcommittees assigned, new town chairs voted in……town committee members identified.  This year there is that and so much more.
We are inviting all Democrats or interested members of ‘no’ party that want to get involved in setting the future direction of our county, state and country.  Some of our goals and objectives:
  • What are our goals as a committee this year?
  • How do we support the groups that have formed in the county or beyond that have similar objectives or those that differ?
  • How do we structure our efforts around 1. Candidates and elections 2. Pressure on incumbent office holders i.e. Faso/Amedore/Lopez to support our view of representative government?
One of the biggest lessons taken away from the 2016 elections is the gap between the national landscape and local governments.  We are ‘hollowed out’ as a party and need to rebuild from the bottom up.
Our committee is in need of fresh perspective and participation.  We invite you to come and listen and determine where you can best participate.  Thanks in advance for your support.
Meeting Location: Gallagher’s. 513 Main St; Cairo, New York 12413
