Wednesday 7/4

  • The annual 4th of July parade will be held on Main Street in Windham on Wednesday, July 4 followed by fireworks at Windham Mountain. Floats line up on South Street and fire apparatus on Route 296 starting at 5 PM. The parade steps off at 7. Kids activities up and down Main Street before the parade, Sean “The Prankster” Magician, Crazy Christine Balloons, face painting, King Hill mini horses petting zoo, free line-dancing demonstrations and lessons as Spillway plays country music at the Centre Church from 4-7 PM. WRIP will be broadcasting live.

Wednesday 7/4

  • The Town of Cairo and the Cairo Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring an Independence Day celebration at Angelo Canna Town Park in Cairo on Wednesday, July 4 from 5-10 PM with live music, food, vendors, and fireworks.
  • The Flat Creek parade will be held on Wednesday, July 4. Line up at the Flat Creek Baptist Church, 849 Flat Creek Road in Gilboa at noon; parade steps off at 12:30.

Thursday 7/5

  • The Fire Prevention and Life Safety team will be speaking to senior citizens about these issues at the old Durham Elementary School building, Route 145 in Durham on Thursday, July 5 at 7 PM. Smoke detectors will be given to anyone who needs them.
  • Sail On, a Beach Boys tribute band, will perform at the Music in the Park summer concert series at Dutchman’s Landing, Main Street in Catskill on Thursday, July 5 from 7-9 PM. Fireworks, sponsored by the Village and Town of Catskill, will follow the performance. Bring a lawn chair. Admission is free.

Saturday 7/7

  • The Village of Tannersville will celebrate Independence Day on Saturday, July 7. The parade along Route 23A starts at 3 PM and ends at Rip Van Winkle Lake where the 90 Proof Band will perform at 7 PM. There will be food vendors and more at the festival, fireworks at dusk.
  • An American Red Cross blood drive will be held on Saturday, July 7 from 8 AM until 1 PM at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 186 Main Street in Cairo.
  • The 24th annual Independence Day parade will be held along Route 145 in East Durham on Saturday, July 7. The parade lines up on Route 145 and County Route 20 at 10:30 AM and steps off at 11, ending at the Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural and Sports Centre. There will be ice cream, soda, hot dogs, a bounce around, and fireworks at dusk.
  • The Celebrate Roxbury Summer Festival, hosted by the Town of Roxbury and the Greater Roxbury Business Association, will be held along Main Street in Roxbury on Saturday, July 7 from 10 AM until 4 PM. The day includes a parade, live entertainment, food, vendors, and kids’ activities. See https://www.VisitRoxbury.com/ for more information.
